Future Ready Volunteer Research Hub

The Challenge

During my time at Salesforce my skills were used for many internal projects. The Future Ready Hub was a global volunteer initiative that helped school kids to college students prepare for the working world. The main challenge was consolidating mountains of information into a structure that users would follow and navigate easily. Information for this site sat in countless google drives and google sites. The main challenge is that the information had no categories so with the team we came up with a site map. After countless iterations this is the site map that we agreed on.

Wireframes

Basic wireframes were then created using sketch and were validated by the team, first starting out as low fidelity to get a visual grasp on the site and then brought up to a higher fidelity to conduct some initial user testing. As this was an internal tool I used the Salesforce Lightning Design System throughout the high fidelity design.

Testing

I carried out user tests with over 25 participants individually over Google Meet as this was a global effort. I asked them to go through the prototype completing tasks. I then went through all the notes from each interview and synthesised the information. I figured out the main themes from the interviews and focused on them for the next round of designs

Final Designs

Below are the final set of designs that the team utilised going forward. The hub is now a central place for employees to go to find information on Future Ready volunteering.
